We’re far easier to get to than you might think – there are good road links to Bangor along the north Wales coast from the M56 and M6.
By road
Postcode LL57 2DG will bring you to the Main Arts building, where our Open Day begins. University staff will direct you to one of the free of charge University car parks around the Main University building, and student guides will then show you where you need to go.
If you follow the ¶º±ÆÖ±²¥ Open Day signs around Bangor and you'll arrive at one of our car parks (where parking is free of charge). Open Day guides will then show you where you need to go.
By train or bus

By ferry
From Ireland, you can cross on the ferry to Holyhead which is half an hour away from Bangor.
By air
Both Manchester Airport and Liverpool John Lennon Airport are around two hours from Bangor, by train or car
Parking at the University car parks is free of charge. Parking for our Open Days is in the University car parks around the Main University building on College Road.
Use the postcode LL57 2DG in your Sat Nav or follow the signs for the University to bring you to the Main University building on College Road.
Staff will direct you to the nearest available parking spaces in the car parks along College Road. Upon arrival, head for our ‘sign-in area’ in the Marquee outside the Main University building on College Road.
- Follow the signs for the Park & Ride car parks on the Deiniol Road science campus OR for those requiring disabled car parking space, please come straight to the Main Building on College Road.
- The first thing you need to do upon arrival is head for our ‘sign-in area’, located in a big marquee outside the Main University Building on College Road. Staff and students on the Deiniol Road science campus will direct you to the Park & Ride buses – or you can walk through the Pontio building and up the hill to the Main University Building.
- Once the Park & Ride car parks on the Deiniol Road science campus are full – or if you’re arriving after 10.30am – please drive straight to the Main University Building on College Road where staff will direct you to available car parking spaces.
- Upon arrival at the the Main University Building on College Road, head for the Open Day ‘sign-in area’ in the marquee outside the Main University Building. Staff will be there to greet you and direct you to the next part of your day.
- Once you’ve signed in with staff at the marquee, if in doubt about where to go or what to do next, just ask anyone in either a purple Bangor t-shirt (Student guides) or turquoise Bangor t-shirt (staff helpers)
- We’ll provide you with a printed version of the programme so that you have that to hand throughout the day.
