North Wales Year 10 Girls Discover the Power of STEM at ¶º±ÆÖ±²¥
Year 10 girls from schools across North Wales visited ¶º±ÆÖ±²¥ on 25 February 2026 for an inspiring, hands-on day exploring how technology, science, maths and innovation shape the world around us.
The event, delivered in partnership with EESW/STEM Cymru, invited pupils to work with ¶º±ÆÖ±²¥ experts and EESW mentors in a series of interactive workshops designed to spark creativity, build confidence and show how STEM skills connect to real-world impact.
A Day of Creativity, Curiosity and Problem Solving
Throughout the day, pupils took part in sessions that showcased the breadth of STEM and highlighted the role of women who are driving innovation across these fields.
Workshops included:
- Code Your Own Robot – controlling a Sphero robot and learning the basics of coding through a visual programming language.
- Be a Data Detective – uncovering clues, spotting unusual patterns and solving real-life puzzles.
- Crack the Code of Marketing – discovering how maths, data and creativity power major campaigns.
- STEM Skills in Action – experimenting, creating and exploring what’s possible with STEM.
¶º±ÆÖ±²¥ is proud to work with schools and partners across the region to inspire young people, build confidence in STEM subjects and show the exciting futures these skills can open.
It was fantastic to work in partnership with Riaz and her team at The Albert Gubay Business School. The Girls into STEM event they created was excellent and provided an insight into the use of data and maths in business and marketing. I know that the girls who took part thoroughly enjoyed themselves and had their eyes opened. The teachers were already asking about the next event as they were leaving at the end of the day!
