Code of Practice
All institutions that intend to submit to REF 2029 are required to submit an Institutional Code of Practice (CoP) to their regulator. The CoPs focuses on the processes and procedures that are used to ensure that the REF submission has been complied in a robust, transparent and EDI aware manner. There are six parts to the form.
- Part(1) covers the interplay with other University policies and changes since the last REF.
- Part(2) does not apply to us and is for Institutions that do not offer the separate Teaching and Research and Teaching and Scholarship contract pathways.
- Part(3) covers how we determine where a researcher is ‘Independent’ as defined by REF guidelines.
- Part(4) addresses how we allocate staff to Units of Assessment.
- Part(5) outlines how we select outputs.
- Part(6) is for supporting documentation.
